Solitude and Self Care

Are you running away from yourself or your pain by constantly having a need to be with others? Do you like your own company or do you have to have others around to fill a void in yourself? Do you feel a need to prove something to others? I like a balance in my life. I don’t always need to be with others and as I get older, I am finding that I actually enjoy my own company. I love learning new things, reading, sipping tea alone with my thoughts, or walking on the beach. I enjoy authentic friendships and have chosen to close my circle to just a few true friends where we support each other through thick and thin. Yes, I used to be one of those that had to be socializing all the time. I no longer need or want that. Solitude is good for the soul. It’s a form of self care and self love
